Scholarship

Eligible for ages 21 and under

Education continues to be a tool that can help propel individuals and The Village wants to support teen parents that have a desire to continue their education after receiving their High School diploma or GED. Currently, there is a very limited pool of scholarships that are specific to teen parents and we want to help fill the gap. This scholarship is specific to 12th grade students who are pursuing any of the following: Community College, 4 year College or University or Trade School. Application Process starts in Fall of 2021

“Pregnancy and birth are significant contributors to high school dropout rates among girls. Only about 50% of teen mothers receive a high school diploma by 22 years of age, whereas approximately 90% of women who do not give birth during adolescence graduate from high school.”
